Turk Telekom Ankara added more frontcourt bulk, athleticism and winning experience for its upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup return with the signing power forward JaJuan Johnson for the coming season, the club announced Tuesday.
Turk Telekom inks former champ Johnson
Johnson (2.08 meters, 32 years old) arrives from FC Bayern Munich where he averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds as he helped the team make history and reach the EuroLeague Playoffs. He also posted 10.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in German League action. Johnson is a former EuroCup champion, having won the competition with Darussafaka Istanbul in 2018. He has four EuroCup seasons under his belt, one apiece with Besiktas Istanbul, Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd and the most recent with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in the 2018-19. In 62 career appearances in the competition he has posted 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds. Veteran big forward made his professional debut with Boston in the NBA. He also played for Fort Wayne, Canton and Idaho of the D-League before starting his European career. He has also played with Gruppo Tesi Pistoia and Pallacanestro Cantu in Italy, a Turkish side Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, and Guangdong in China.
