Real Madrid added versatility and experience to its roster by signing swingman Adam Hanga to a two-year deal, the club announced Friday. Hanga (2.01 meters, 32 years old) averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 steals in 41 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his fourth with Barcelona. He helped Barcelona win the Spanish double - league and cup titles - and reach the EuroLeague Championship Game in 2021. Before that, he won back-to-back Spanish Copa del Rey titles with Barcelona in 2018 and 2019. Hanga had a stellar 2016-17 season with KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, averaging 10.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 33 games that season, and being chosen as the EuroLeague Best Defender by the competition's head coaches.

In 197 career games over five EuroLeague seasons, Hanga has accumulated 1,468 points, 693 rebounds and 192 steals. He proved a major contributor to Baskonia reaching the EuroLeague Final Four in 2016 for the first time in eight years as he was the EuroLeague's fourth-best stealer and shot-blocker that season. Hanga started his career with Albacomp-UPC Szekesfehervar of his native Hungary and also played for Basquet Manresa of Spain and Sidigas Avellino of Italy. Hanga is a member of the Hungarian national team.
