Olympiacos Piraeus added Greek national team guard Michalis Lountzis to its core by signing him to a three-year contract. Lountzis (1.95 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Promitheas Patras, for whom he averaged 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists as a part-time starter in 10 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. He raised those numbers to 8.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the Greek League.

Lountzis started his professional career with Panathinaikos Athens, where he became the youngest ever player to appear in the Greek Cup Final and also made his EuroLeague debut in the playoffs against CSKA Moscow in April 2015. Lountzis made a total of four EuroLeague appearances for the Greens before moving on to Trikala and Lavrio. He will make his return to the EuroLeague this season with the Reds.
